Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, MEXICO – Ikano Industry has introduced IKONA, a consumer mattress brand that features adaptive comfort and proprietary RePoliol technology aimed at increasing both personal wellbeing and environmental responsibility. The launch marks Ikano Industry’s first direct-to-consumer brand after supplying mattresses to industry partners for nearly two decades.

Ikano Industry, a division of Ikano Group, is the largest global mattress supplier for IKEA and has produced mattresses since 2007. The IKONA range incorporates circular innovation and responsible manufacturing practices. All IKONA mattresses use RePoliol, a technology that chemically reprocesses used foam back into polyol, its base ingredient, enabling the recycled foam to be used again.

IKONA mattresses also utilize other sustainable materials, such as bamboo fibers, recycled steel coils, and yarns from recycled sources. Repes, a post-industrial reprocessed fiber, is also included in certain products to further reduce environmental impact.

According to Silvia Galasso, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for Ikano Industry, IKONA is designed for consumers seeking both high-performance sleep technology and environmental responsibility. The mattresses incorporate IkoMapping ergonomic technology for weight distribution and spinal support, IkoHarmony split-core construction for individualized firmness, AreaCool temperature regulation, and FlexCoil for motion isolation and edge support.

All core technologies and most mattress components, including four foam types, are engineered and manufactured in-house, which helps maintain quality and control costs.

IKONA’s product line includes three series:

  • Solara Collection: Entry-level line with circular RePoliol foam, removable cover, low-impact materials, and zoned ergonomic support. Prices start at $599.

  • Térrava Collection: Combines RePoliol foam comfort layers with a hybrid coil system, bamboo fiber quilted cover, and enhanced support. Prices start at $799.

  • Borealis Collection: Features all advanced comfort and support technologies, split-core construction for individualized firmness, and a cooling cover. Prices start at $999.

All IKONA mattresses come with a 10-year limited warranty and are available at select retailers across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Ikano Industry also plans to partner with hospitality groups and offers private label and contract manufacturing services.

“Real sustainability is about how products are made, how resources are used, and what happens at the end of a product’s life,” Galasso said. “Our RePoliol technology transforms foam waste from both manufacturing and end-of-life mattresses so that we can not only keep materials in use longer but can reduce the amount of waste entering landfills.”
