For the most part, my skin is always on its best behavior. It isn’t really prone to breakouts, and it doesn’t get easily irritated by new formulas (which, as a beauty writer who tests a bunch of products at once, is kind of a necessity). However, if there is one thing my complexion hates, it’s staying hydrated. Whether I am using barrier repair creams as my daytime moisturizer or slathering my skin in nourishing oils nightly, few things actually make my skin look and feel quenched.

I’m no stranger to slugging with Aquaphor Healing Ointment every night, and even using the Healing Balm Stick around my eyes instead of eye cream. Despite how well they work on my dehydrated skin, these are way too heavy to use during the day. So, when I realized that the brand recently released its first-ever daily lotion and cream that you can use head-to-toe for lightweight nourishment, I knew my skin would be the ultimate test.

To my surprise, the lightweight formulas not only work, but also absorb into the skin in a way that makes my stubborn moisture barrier seem as if it were always hydrated to begin with.

The Aquaphor Hydrating Daily Body Lotion is a lightweight yet deeply nourishing face and body lotion formulated with skin-replenishing ingredients, including hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and glycerin. Its lightweight texture absorbs quickly, leaving a trace of hydration without residue. It’s also a fragrance-free formula, so it’s gentle enough to use on sensitive skin types.

As someone who travels often and has ultra-dry skin, I love a simple, multi-tasking product that I can just toss in my bag. This lightweight body lotion doesn’t feel greasy yet nourishes my ultra-dry skin in ways only oils typically can—and I love that you can use it on your face and body for head-to-toe hydration. Aquaphor is a staple in my skincare routine, and I have long wished for something that I can use during the daytime that is just as effective as the infamous slugging balm. And after a summer spent in the ocean and pool, my skin is certainly reaping the benefits of this nourishing drugstore lotion.

As its name suggests, the Aquaphor Moisturizing Face and Body Cream
is a bit thicker, thanks to its creamy consistency. Like the lotion, this formula features hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and glycerin, plus shea butter for an extra conditioning boost. Despite its creamier texture, the moisturizer absorbs quickly—especially if your skin is parched—and doesn’t leave behind any residue.

I love the overall consistency of this drugstore face and body cream because it feels like a rich and luxurious body butter without the greasy heaviness that typically comes with that kind of nourishment. While it does take some time to rub it into your skin, absorption is pretty fast, and your skin has a nice, velvety texture after application.

I tested this face and body cream on my ultra-dry arms and face after a day spent swimming in a highly chlorinated public pool that left my skin itchy and flaky. Almost immediately upon application, my skin looked completely rejuvenated, with the itch and discomfort completely gone. My dry skin loves a deep-conditioning product, so I can get away with using this cream during the daytime. However, if your skin is a bit more oily, I’d save this for your nighttime routine.
