Made You Look: A Cool Studley-Inspired Tool Chest

Over the last week, three people have sent me this video, and it’s easy to see why. Patrick Damiani,  a YouTuber who normally makes videos about music production, showing off his Studley-inspired tool chest checks, a couple of boxes in my life. In a past life, I too was a recording engineer, and the only reason I started editing video, eventually leading to my job at Fine Woodworking, was because Chris Schwarz hired me (forced me!) to edit the Lost Art Press documentary on the Studley tool chest.

I love the Studley tool chest and I’ve been in awe of all of the replicas and riffs of it that I’ve seen. The thing that I especially like about Patrick’s version is that he worked on it with no game plan over the course of six years. He built it as it came to him and layed out the tools as it made sense. Personally, even though it’s much debated, that is how I think Studley built his as well.
